The Forbidden PlanKnit – an exploration of color and space.

“Welcome to the Forbidden PlanKnit, where unique creatures and forms inhabit the land. These forms have evolved from simple thoughts to complex emotions that have taken over the barren landscapes. Early on, these emotions were stagnant, growing from the rocks and land that gave them life. But as time went on, they found a desire to escape the place that gave them birth and explore the cosmos. Unraveling across all of time and space, they have no destination, nor do they have a plan. But they do know that, now that they have escaped, there is no turning back.”

Project statement:

The story above sums up my most recent series in a unique way. I have spent the last couple of years working on evolving my landscapes, forms and colors to create something unique that still echoes the paintings of my past. In the process, my forms have taken on a life of their own, becoming characters within the landscape and I have become fascinated with the curves and movement that occurs when I am creating these new creatures.

While the easiest way to classify these unique forms is simply as a jellyfish, I believe they are more than that. They are a manifestation of my emotions brought to life through the knitted stitch and my love of color.
